Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season that invites honesty, reflection, and preparation. Receiving ashes is a way of telling the truth about our shared humanity—our limits, our losses, and our longing for healing and renewal. The ashes remind us that we belong to the earth and to one another, and they call live lives shaped by compassion, justice, and hope.
