 FAQs
| Q: | What are the procedures for arranging my wedding at your church? |
| A: | If you are planning a wedding, contact Church Administrator Teresa Northcut to reserve the sanctuary on our calendar and
to receive our Wedding Worksheet and List of Fees. You will then meet with Pastor Perdew three times for wedding
planning and with Diane Stephens, our Spiritual Director in Residence, for premarital counseling. |

| Q: | How can I arrange to have my child baptized? |
| A: | The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated for children, youth or adults during Sunday morning worship. Baptism is not celebrated
during the season of Lent. To schedule a baptism, contact Church Administrator Teresa Northcut. |

| Q: | How can I find out more information about the Memorial Garden? What are the procedures for reserving a place? |
| A: | The east side of our church building houses a small meditative Memorial Garden
where remains of members and friends of the church may be interred. At the time of interment,
a memorial plaque listing the name, year of birth and year of death is affixed to a permanent bronze
memorial in the garden. A fee of $500 perpetuates the maintenance of the garden and covers the cost of
the memorial plaque and the interment service. For more information contact Church Administrator Teresa Northcut. |

| Q: | What’s the latest news on the capital campaign? |
| A: | In the summer of 2007, First Congregational Church retained the services of Nike Whitcomb & Associates to undertake a
fundraising feasibility study in preparation for the launch of a capital campaign to raise funds for needed facility renovations. Whitcomb Associates
learned that our priorities for renovation include improved handicap accessibility (lift/elevator and restroom facilities), renovation of the lower level
and Pilgrim Hall kitchens, infrastructure repair to the sanctuary roof, improvement of electrical and life safety features, and redecorating of the
sanctuary and Pilgrim Hall.
We are now in the “quiet phase” of soliciting advanced major gifts for the campaign in preparation for the public
launch of the campaign in the November, 2008.

| Q: | What’s the latest news on the renovation of the church building? |
| A: | Working with Eckenhoff Saunders Architects, we are now in the phase of schematic design. Designs have been established for a new accessible entry vestibule at Pilgrim Hall to include a full size elevator, new stairs, and reception/coat rack space.
The existing lift accessing the Education Wing will be replaced as well.
Accessibility improvements will include the construction of fully accessible restrooms at the Sanctuary level and the remodeling of Lower Level restrooms to be fully ADA compliant.
The kitchen will be renovated as will the Pilgrim Hall kitchenette.
We will address infrastructure repairs including a new Sanctuary/Pilgrim Hall roof and skylights, upgrades to plumbing and electrical systems, life safety and fire safety systems, and exterior safety lighting.
We will upgrade the finishes (paint, carpet) in the Sanctuary and Pilgrim Hall, improve the lighting and dimming capacity, and upgrade the sound system.
We expect construction to commence in early 2009.
